Dominic Ropion's sensational oud fragrance for Frederic Malle's Editions de Parfums is as stunning and magnificent as one would expect.

A dark enveloping scent wrought of agarwood, Turkish rose and amber: an audacious attempt - we believe entirely successful and triumphant - to create a "true" Eastern oud perfume. The Night is not oud adapted and tamed to please conventional Western tastes but a fragrance which displays this legendary oil as presented, worn and treasured in the Orient: raw, ferocious, shocking and dangerous.

Woody, spicy, tenacious and disturbingly animalic. The Night is a master class in perfumery, showcasing an ancient ingredient with the ultimate in modern olfactory savoir-faire.
